Origami Kusudama: Little Roses

It's been quite long since I've posted anything or started on any small handicraft project - I was really busying myself, preparing for a major exam. Anyway, it's finally over, so I can now free my mind. (yay!)

My mom's birthday is coming up, this Sunday, and I didn't really know what to make for her until I came across this beautiful origami paperball. She loves flower-themed items, so I think it'll work for her.

The end product is lovely - I could not emphasize more how pretty the product looks when it's in your hands!

I updated my project timeline on epikk, so do check that out if you want to see how the process is made!

Had a lot of fun making this, and hope she likes it! :-)

Custom orders!

About two weeks ago I received a request for a customised order, and I got so excited - Yippee!

This time, it was a HUGE order and I was working against the clock to finish that order before the deadline, and considering the time taken for shipping I only had about three to four days to finish it :-( Still, I was really happy that the customer chose my shop to make the order, and this order was really fun to make.

Folding 200 white stars after I was done with 450 turquoise and orange stars.
Then I told myself, "Keep going!" Hahaha.

Love how this turned out :-)

The final products!!! (Was really excited to send this out!)

With the help of my beloved family, I managed to finish the order before the estimated time, and the order reached the recipient timely!

I love to make customised orders for customers, and it makes me feel especially happy when the customer receives your item with satisfaction. This experience was great and hopefully, I would be able get the chance to do this again :-)

It's been a busy, busy week for me, so I didn't manage to squeeze out time to blog, and really thankful that I even have time to spare for blogging. And especially the festive season is round the corner, there's more work for me...

Well then, so long for now!

Seoul, Korea

Last December, I went on an overseas cultural exchange trip with my school to Seoul, Korea. Definitely worth the money & time - I earned precious friendships as well as the beautiful scenery that Korea has to offer (pre-winter autumn leaves, y'know?)

Aaaaand of course, I can't forget to make a scrapbook as a keepsake for this awesome trip. So, here's that!

This is the layout of the very first page that I've made for the trip. I attached a special pocket to the back of the photo such that I can put whatever items, small cards I've received into that "photo pocket".
Then I've also added some handmade party picks & a layered paper rosette for decor.
We were in a fashion district in Daegu City! A pity the time given to shop was really limited :-/
I made a simple paper rosette & layered it with circle diecuts. Also added a touch of glitter to the circumferences of the circle!

I MISS THE KOREAN FOOD. A LOT. This was what I ate on the first day when I arrived in Korea. This plate of stir-fried chicken was so tender and succulent, I can almost taste it in my mouth now...

This page is my personal favourite - because I really enjoyed the stay at Sunbi Village. The weather was extremely cold but the wooden house was really warm and cosy. A really unique experience.
Layout inspiration from http://inacreativebubble.blogspot.sg/2014/07/moments.html
I used washi tape, some heidi swapp accented stickers as well as AC chipboard thickers! (i really love this design)

...And those are the pages that I wanted to share! The rest are for my eyes only. Hahaha.

Hopefully I'll be able to improve more on my layouts and probably layering of embellishments (really suck at it) soon. Maybe not anytime soon, because I'm a busy, busy person.

For now, happy crafting!

Just received a new order today, and sure I am elated! These really cute elephant party picks are going to be shipped away to a far, far place from Singapore. Hope this item would be received properly and safely by the buyer!

Also, I don't think I'm going to re-make this pink elephant collection for now until I get more free time on my hands, (oops) but I really like how the overall mix of colours turn out! Great for a girl's baby shower/birthday party.

24 Pink and Grey Elephant Mix Party Picks, Cupcake Toppers, exoticfolds on Etsy.

Done with the packaging - Bubble wrap  + thank you note!

I'm seriously considering how to improve on the packaging for my Etsy shop. Might actually consider wrapping the item and adding a touch of baker's twine to the package.

Hopefully it turns out good!

mini handmade album - 100% paper

Just been back on a vacation from Thailand, and no doubt scrapbookers would think - I'm going to scrap everything that happened on the whole trip!

Thailand is truly a beautiful country, the lush greeneries and the rustic stay at the resort really made it a great experience for me. Not to mention the food! I really love their tom yam soup.

-- Back to the scrapbook. With some inspirations I've gathered from My Creative Spirit and Dawn's Inspirations, I've managed to create my very first 6 1/2"x 6 1/2" album from scratch! (yes I'm over the moon)

Here are some pictures of how the album looks like overall:
I used two pieces of chipboard measuring 6 1/2" each and connected it to a spine measuring about 2". I then wrapped the book with AC Textured and Simple Stories' cardstock. I love it when the albums are vibrant! Reminds me of the fun and comfort I enjoy when I'm with my family :-)
I binded the books using the method that My Creative Spirit used, but I also folded the hinges in such a way that there would be sufficient space for the embellishments on each page as shown.

Above: I used Bo Bunny's "Family Is.." cardstock for the inner pages. The hinges are about 1/4" thick.

That's so much that has been completed for now, and since school break is almost over, I really hope I can finish this project! Else I guess this has to drag on until the next break comes.. D:

Until then, happy scrapping to me and to you!

Enjoy!

mini spree!

Today I went down to my local scrapbook store to collect my items - and voila! I've got these BEAUTIFUL loots. Love them. At the same time, my wallet's shrinking.. Guess I've gotta control my streak a little.

Super pretty 12x12" scrapbooking papers! I only got two pieces because I think I really need to use more before I get more (it's never enough)
Top: Carta Bella "Hello Again" Journaling Cards.
Bottom: Bo Bunny's Family Is Happy

I love these embellishments stickers/tapes! Pretty pretty pretty.
(clockwise from top): Tim Holtz Distress Stickles in Tarnished Brass, Freckled Fawn's Arrows Washi Tape, Half-Pearl Embellishments, Freckled Fawn Wood Chips, MME's Cut&Paste Label Sticker.

And here comes my favourite part - journaling cards! Absolutely love this series with the collaboration with Amy Tangerine - i think it really matches my style.
Becky Higgins Project Life Mini Kit Plus One Edition.

For now this kit is still really precious and new to me (even though it's been out in the market for quite some time) so I shall leave it in it's original and new packaging... Until I feel like unwrapping my "gift" to myself :p

And probably update an overview of the whole kit in overall with the designs of the cards inside. Can't wait!
